Club + Resort Chef and the Chef to Chef Conference are excited to announce that registration for PlateCraft, a Chef to Chef Experience, will open in early July. In its second year, this unique, exclusive, hands-on culinary workshop will be held from Nov. 3-5, 2024, at the beautiful Cullasaja Club in Highlands, N.C.
PlateCraft is expanding its agenda to include savory and pastry education this year, with additional sessions dedicated to pastry chefs.
“Pastry is a critical element of club culinary, and the style of PlateCraft, with its exclusivity and hands-on workshops, is the perfect avenue to foster greater collaboration between savory and pastry chefs,” says Cullasaja Club Executive Chef Scott Craig, who also serves as the host and Chef Coordinator. “We believe it’s important to offer educational opportunities for all club culinarians to inspire new menu innovations and keep moving the needle.”
To enhance the overall experience for attendees, PlateCraft is partnering with Cullasaja’s neighboring club, Wildcat Cliffs, to provide additional kitchen and prep space and resources.
This year’s theme—The Grand Buffet—promises to be a spectacular showcase of culinary creativity and expertise with a lineup of presenters that includes some of the world’s most well-respected and highly accomplished culinarians, including:
- Scott Craig, CEC, CCA, WCMC, Executive Chef of Cullasaja Club
- Geo Lanez, MBA, CEC, Executive Chef of The Patterson Club
- Shawn Loving, CMC, Executive Chef of Detroit Athletic Club
- Susan Notter, CEPC, Pastry Coach of the USA Culinary Olympic Team; Owner and Chocolatier of Elizabeth Moore Chocolate Company
- Andy Chlebana, CMPC, CCA, Pastry Chef Instructor at Joliet Junior College, Coach of the 2023 USA Pastry Team, Author of The Advanced Art of Baking and Pastry
Similar to the 2023 PlateCraft, 2024 attendees will engage in advanced culinary workshops and educational sessions led by this esteemed group of culinary masters. Attendees should plan to arrive in Highlands on Saturday, Nov. 2. Education sessions will kick off on Sunday, Nov. 3, and conclude in the afternoon on Tuesday, Nov. 5.
PlateCraft provides an intimate setting to foster meaningful connections and personalized attention. With limited availability, attendees can anticipate an exclusive gathering where they can closely interact with industry-leading professionals and forge lasting relationships with like-minded peers. PlateCraft is also designed to be an all-inclusive program for attendees, with meals, accommodations, and educational materials included in the registration cost. However, airfare and transportation to and from the airport are not covered.
In 2023, PlateCraft sold out in just five days, and due to high demand, C+RC expects the 2024 event to sell out quickly as well. Registration for PlateCraft opens in July, so sign up for emails here to stay informed.
