Club + Resort Chef has been awarded a Regional Silver Azbee Award by the American Society of Business Publication Editors (ASBPE) in the Online Single Topic Coverage category. The recognition celebrates All Ships Rise, a multimedia project that honored the work and influence of Scott Craig, Executive Chef of Cullasaja Club (Highlands, N.C.).
The winning entry featured a trio of interconnected pieces:
- All Ships Rise – a short documentary capturing Craig’s approach to leadership, mentorship, and team culture in the kitchen.
- Scott Craig: Transforming an Industry, One Service at a Time – a deeply reported profile exploring Craig’s career trajectory, philosophy, and impact on the club culinary world.
- C+RC Releases All Ships Rise: A Documentary on Scott Craig – an overview of the project’s intent and editorial vision.
The Azbee Awards are among the most competitive in B2B media, recognizing the best journalism and design in business publications across the country. Entries are judged for editorial quality, reporting depth, and the overall value provided to a publication’s audience.
This project embodied all three.
All Ships Rise was designed to offer a layered, immersive look at a chef who has redefined what leadership can look like in a private club kitchen. Through both written and visual storytelling, C+RC captured the tone, tempo, and substance of Craig’s work, balancing technical insight with emotional resonance.
“For us, this project was about honoring a chef who represents the best of what this industry can be,” says Joanna DeChellis, Editorial Director of Club + Resort Chef. “[Craig] has shaped kitchens, mentored generations, and led with generosity and integrity. We wanted to build something that reflected that, not just for him, but for every chef who sees themselves in his story.”
The initiative reinforced C+RC’s broader editorial mission: to serve as the definitive voice for chefs and culinary teams working in clubs and resorts. By combining strong reporting with authentic storytelling, All Ships Rise helped spark important conversations around mentorship, team building, and long-term career growth.
“We’re honored to receive this recognition from ASBPE and even more honored to serve a readership full of professionals like Chef Craig who inspire us to raise the bar every day,” adds DeChellis.
