On Saturday, March 4th, Club + Resort Chef will host a Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) Level 1 wine certification in advance of the Chef to Chef Conference, which formally kicks off on Sunday, March 5th in Miami. Attendees interested in earning this certification can sign up as part of their full Chef to Chef Conference registration. This course costs $600 and includes all educational materials, 12 different tastings and pairings, lunch, breaks and the final exam.
“This is a rare opportunity to learn about and taste a broad variety of wines in one day with your peers and the expert wine educators from Commonwealth Wine School,” says Jessica Sculley, DipWSET, WSET Certified Educator and Commonwealth Director, who will lead the course at Chef to Chef. “Spend the day delving into major wine regions and grape varieties, and learn how to educate staff and members about the wines you pair with the food in your clubs.”
The day will be broken into two parts—with tastings before and after lunch, which will also be provided—ending with the WSET Level 1 exam. Upon successful completion, chefs will receive an official WSET certificate plus a lapel pin by mail.
WSET certifications are globally recognized as an international wine and spirit knowledge standard. This course provides a systematized way of learning about and tasting wine, focusing on practical, hands-on knowledge designed to build a foundation for future exploration.
“It’s a wonderful opportunity for Chef to Chef Conference attendees to learn about wine in a fun atmosphere,” says Sculley.
This offer is only available to the first 40 attendees who sign up in advance as part of their full conference registration.
CORRECTION: In our original communication about the WSET Level 1 Certification opportunity, sent on October 21, 2022, an error was published regarding pricing. The author stated, “This course typically costs $395, but Chef to Chef has secured a $100 discount for interested conference attendees.” The sentence should have read: “This course costs $600 and includes all educational materials, 12 different tastings and pairings, lunch, breaks and the final exam.”
