On June 25th, we hosted a Gainey Wine Dinner, which lived up to its billing as “The Fun One” for our members. The event got off to a lively start as the service staff team opened the night dancing away to “I Got a Feeling.”
Members then enjoyed an amazing four-course dinner paired with wines from Gainey Vineyard. Winemaker Jeff LeBard shared his passion and love for wine while members enjoyed his Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Merlot, and Syrah during a fun and memorable evening.
The service staff team dance set this dinner apart from all others. How did we make it happen? I contacted a local dance studio and arranged a meeting with the instructor. We brainstormed ideas to make this song fit the vision of the dinner. After hours of collaboration and many changes, we settled on a dance routine that would bring members to their feet. The dance instructor came to the club, and we had “dance lessons” for our service staff team every Friday for 7 weeks.
On the night of the dinner, our team nailed the dance. They were prepared and confident. Watching a group of individuals come together and accomplish a common goal was fantastic. This was not only something the members enjoyed. Our team beamed with pride as they accomplished such a great feat. The team building the dance brought was unparallel to anything I have been a part of. We ALL encouraged one another to put on our best performance.
Following the dance, servers poured the first course with Gainey Sauvignon Blanc, and the dinner began. My favorite comment from the evening was from a member, Chanel Schweer, who said, “The dance started the night and set the bar; job well done by all.”
She was right, we set the tone of the evening.
Gainey Winery was an absolute pleasure to work with, too. Our members loved their wines so much that we sold over 110 cases. Another evening highlight was winemaker (and my brother) Jeff LeBard who brings a level of fun and education to wine dinners that makes the night memorable. Pair that with our Executive Chef Bruno Massuger’s food and you have the perfect evening and experience.
