Eight Culinary Institute of America students will compete live for $10k in scholarships.
Forever Oceans, a sustainable open-ocean seafood leader, is investing in the next generation of culinarians by pitting eight student finalists from The Culinary Institute of America (CIA) in a cook-off to earn scholarships and superstar status as the 2021 Grand Champion.
The competition—Kahala Klash™ Cook-Off—will be broadcast via Livestream at 3 p.m. EST on Nov. 7th. Students will be judged by celebrity chefs including Andrew Zimmern, Nick DiGiovanni, Rick Moonen, Mark Allison, Brendan Walsh, and Cathy Holley. Together, these judges will name the winners and share more than $10,000 in scholarships to four deserving finalists. The first prize is a scholarship of $5,000. The second prize is a scholarship of $3,000. The third prize is a scholarship of $2,000. There will also be a People’s Choice Award scholarship of $1,000.
The young chef competitors from CIA campuses nationwide include Justin Kramer, Nadia Gonzalez, Bryce Gordon, Mehak Rawal, Maximiliano Righimal, Gakuyu Suzuki, Colin Shillingburg and Helen Zhao.
