For Michael Matarazzo, CEC Executive Chef of Farmington Country Club (Charlottesville, Va.), each morning provides an opportunity to start fresh with renewed positivity and perspective.
At the 2023 Chef to Chef Conference, set for March 5-7 in Miami, Matarazzo will share his strategies for incorporating mindset calibration and self-awareness into a morning routine. Matarazzo will pull from his experience as a chef and a transformational life coach, helping leaders find a more positive and productive outlook. Attendees will experience firsthand the beneficial impact mindset calibration and self-awareness can have on performance and health.
“This is an important topic for me because I believe our profession is currently surrounded by a fair amount of negativity and hopelessness,” says Matarazzo. “I believe we get what we get in life because we set our limitations based on our perception of hope for a brighter future.”
Chef to Chef attendees will gain a different perspective on the importance of a morning routine and learn techniques for recalibrating one’s mindset, managing daily stress and looking at life through a more positive lens.
The annual Chef to Chef Conference is devoted exclusively to the specific needs of club and resort food-and-beverage operations. The Conference agenda is designed by practicing club chefs to ensure that it will be of practical use for attendees from the food-and-beverage management teams of private, semi-private and daily-fee clubs, resorts, golf courses and city, dining and yacht clubs, including Executive Chefs, Chefs de Cuisine and Sous Chefs, General Managers, F&B Directors/Managers and Clubhouse Directors/Managers.
“It’s easy to fall into the trap of thinking that your years of experience in a given profession qualify you as an expert on all related topics,” says Matarazzo. “The Chef to Chef Conference exposes Chefs to new ideas and techniques based on relevant trends specific to the Club industry. You can only grow so much within the four walls of your kitchen. On the other side of those walls is a world of new perspectives and innovation. I believe that world is called the Chef to Chef Conference.”
In 2023, the Chef to Chef Conference will head to the InterContinental in Miami, from March 5-7. The 2023 agenda includes eight culinary demonstrations and seven education sessions by many of the industry’s best and brightest chefs and managers, plus a keynote address presented by Patrick O’Connell, Chef and Proprietor of The Inn at Little Washington.
