Digital badges, such as a World Certified Executive Chef badge, help build a career pathway and illustrate a chef’s dedication to personal growth and professional advancement.

Using digital badges, the framework is designed to enable progression into and within the sector. It recognizes the skills and experience of people working in hospitality and helps employers attract and retain. Digital badges provide rich data about a chef’s professional experience, making it easier for employers to match their skills with available roles and helping to access new employment opportunities.
A World Certified Executive Chef is a professional chef with extensive knowledge and experience in managing food operations. This individual has a proven track record in managing multiple food outlets within a culinary establishment which includes managing and developing people, budgeting and forecasting, and contributing to the implementation of the establishment’s strategic plan. They are employed as an executive chef, corporate executive chef (or equivalent), or run their own business.
Applicants for the badge of World Certified Executive Chef must meet one of two requirements. Applicants have either achieved a professional recognition that meets the standards of the Certified Executive Chef badge or must prepare and submit a portfolio of evidence while completing their day-to-day work, which has been assessed as meeting the standards of the Certified Executive Chef badge, part of the Worldchefs Global Culinary Certification.
Worldchefs is dedicated to maintaining and improving the culinary standards of global cuisines through education, training, and professional development for members. Global Hospitality Certification showcases career milestones using digital badges and helps build a career pathway towards professional advancement. Global certification is just one of the many opportunities available to chefs, and with numerous core skills, role-specific skills, and evidence of professional development required, executive chefs can be considered for a World Certified Executive Chef badge.
