A World Certified Master Pastry Chef is a professional pastry chef who creates innovative pastry, bakery, and dessert products of exceptional quality and has achieved an award or certification which is considered to be a benchmark for pastry excellence. The holder of this title has a minimum of ten years of professional pastry and baking experience and is employed as an executive pastry chef, corporate executive pastry chef (or equivalent), or runs their own business.
Applicants must be working as head pastry chef, executive pastry chef, or equivalent at the time of application. The only other entry requirement for World Certified Master Pastry Chef is the completion of Worldchefs Certified Pastry Chef or its equivalent. Applicants holding a professional certification as an American Culinary Federation Certified Master Pastry Chef are considered eligible for fast track certification.
