Willow Oaks Country Club Completes Cabana Bar

Because of its location and design, the bar acts as a natural gathering place for all facets of membership.

By Editorial Staff | June 24, 2026

At Willow Oaks Country Club in Richmond, Va., the Cabana Bar marks the first phase of an expansion ranging from $10 to $15 million. The bar’s thoughtful, intentional design sets the tone for the rest of the project, the full scope of which will include a complete renovation and expansion of the clubhouse and kitchen, the addition of pickleball courts, and a golf performance center, including four indoor/outdoor hitting bays, a lounge with bar service, a dedicated teaching bay and offices.

Courtenay Cranford, Director of Marketing and Communications for Willow Oaks CC, says the Cabana Bar was specifically designed to be accessible from nearly every area of campus.

“Members can enter from the pool deck through multiple gates or from outside the pool area, making it a natural gathering place for golfers, tennis players, swimmers, and families alike,” she says.

The space has quickly become a hub. Members might grab a drink after golf or a tennis, for example, or parents can relax or work while their kids are at swim practice.

“The bar’s open, square design creates sightlines and conversation opportunities on all four sides,” Cranford notes, “encouraging members to socialize with one another.”

Family-friendly seating also provides another dining opportunity at the club, to remain open for adults and kids throughout the summer season and into the fall.
