Lori LeBard, Clubhouse Manager of El Niguel CC, and her team hosted an extravagant wine dinner for members featuring one of the most celebrated winemakers in the world.
Earlier this summer, we hosted a highly anticipated Penfolds wine dinner here at El Niguel Country Club (Laguna Niguel, Calif.) on the evening of Saturday, August 28th. The event proved to be an epicurean delight with service to match. The dinner featured the best Penfolds has to offer, pouring 2015 Grange, Bin 98 Quantum, and Bin 707 Cabernet.
Members began their evening sipping Penfolds X Thienot exclusive 2012 Grand Cru Blanc De Noir champagne as the sunset on the terrace.
The menu featured glacier 51 seabass and Aussie lobster, Mangalista Estate Pork Three Ways-Babgulyas style, Sanuki Olive-Fed Wagyu Beef paired with truffles and baby leek potatoes. The meal ended beautifully with Lamington Marquise cake coupled with Penfolds Grandfather Tawny 20 year.
The genesis of this event began when we met our Vault Collective Luxury Treasury Wine representative, Justin Wilson. With Justin, the sky was the limit! His unparalleled service allowed us to bring our wildest dreams to fruition. He connected our Executive Chef, Bruno Massuger, with Chef Joe Bonavita, allowing Chef Massuger to source exceptional ingredients, including the highly coveted Sanuki Olive-fed Wagyu, to pair with these incredible wines.
The night didn’t stop with dessert for our members. We partnered with Justin and Casey Leblang at RNDC to offer wines by the case for sale. Our members took home exceptional deals to build their own Penfolds wine collection. We sold more than 135 cases of Penfolds wine to a very happy membership.
