Executive Chefs at Canterbury GC in Beachwood, Ohio, Rocky Fork Hunt & Country Club in Gahanna, Ohio, and Westchester Country Club in Rye, N.Y., will prepare four portions of a main course featuring either duck, chicken or game hen, at Johnson & Wales University in Providence, R.I., on April 12.
Three club chefs are up for the 2014 ACF Northeast Region Chef of the Year honors, the Cleveland-based Northeast Ohio Media Group reported.
Timothy R. Rios, Executive Chef at Canterbury Golf Club in Beachwood, Ohio; Joshua J. Wickham, Executive Chef at Rocky Fork Hunt & Country Club in Gahanna, Ohio; and Gerald Louis Ford, Executive Sous Chef at Westchester Country Club in Rye, N.Y., will compete against each other for the prize. Scott Green, Executive Chef for Delaware North Companies Sportservice at First Niagara Center in Buffalo, N.Y., is the fourth contestant, Group reported.
On April 12 at Johnson & Wales University in Providence, R.I., the chefs will do battle, with the winner facing other regional champs for national honors later this year. Regional winner receives travel expenses, and a complimentary registration to the national ACF competition. The national winner will receive $5,000 and the title of 2014 U.S.A.’s Chef of the Year, Group reported.
At the regional competition, contestants must prepare four portions of a main course featuring either duck, chicken or game hen. Each chef will have 1 hour and 40 minutes to prepare their plated dish, Group reported.
