Today’s beverage service has evolved to be every bit as much about storytelling and showmanship as it is about the drink itself. Patrons are looking for an extra wow factor in performance and presentation. When done right, it can elevate a drink to a unique and personal experience—while letting venues charge a premium price to match. Likewise, artisan crafted cocktails, often featuring house-infused ingredients, are on the rise—taking the potential for tailored upscale beverages to another level.
In response to these trends, Libbey® has introduced a distinct new collection of cut glassware that helps set the stage for captivating presentations. Master’s Reserve® Renewal™ honors Libbey’s heritage in the craft of cut glass while adding a contemporary edge. The dramatic new designs help every drink tell a rich story.
Available in Three Striking Cut Designs
Master’s Reserve Renewal is now available in three distinct cut glass designs, and customers can expect many more unique designs in the future.
The first three designs, available in select products, include:
• Chisel – Masculine cuts along the sham set the stage for a drink with substance.
• Crosshatch – Contemporary, linear cuts add tone and depth to any presentation.
• Bloom – A swirl of petals creates an airy invitation to drink in the good times.
Reviving an American Legacy of Cut Glass
Stunning works of cut glass once enchanted the nation around the time of its centennial. This was known as the Brilliant Period, in which Libbey played a pivotal role.
At the 1893 World’s Columbian Exposition in Chicago, Libbey constructed a palatial model glass factory, filling it with glistening cut-glass vases, mirrors and chandeliers to showcase to the world. This decisive move became a catalyst to a booming interest in American-made cut glass.
Libbey created some of the period’s most sought-after patterns, ones chosen by the White House, foreign heads of state, and even royalty. (A princess from Spain declared Libbey the “Glass Cutters to Her Royal Highness Infanta Dona Eulalia of Spain.”)
“Renewal brings this cherished craft of cut glass onto a contemporary stage,” said Susan J. Dountas, senior director of marketing for Libbey Inc. “We’re excited about connecting to our heritage in new ways that reflect the trends of today and support our customers’ success.”
Dountas added that the Master’s Reserve Renewal collection fits perfectly into the company’s Serving Experience™ platform – an approach to market that combines product, trend knowledge and channel expertise into insights-driven professional tableware solutions.
