Outdoor cooking elements, like grills, smokers and pizza ovens, can set the stage for a unique al fresco club dining experience.
Whether it is having just a few pieces of outdoor cooking equipment or having a full outdoor kitchen, more country clubs are now incorporating outdoor cooking into their patio spaces. Not only are country clubs trying to make better use of the outdoor space they have, but outdoor cooking can create social environments that can improve the member experience and enhance the ambiance while also generating revenue.
Outdoor Grill
For clubs that only grill during certain seasons, having a portable grill is a great investment. Aside from service on the patio, portable grills are perfect for numerous outdoor events and functions. Portable grills can be easily moved from one location of a club to another while also being able to be moved inside during inclement weather. If looking for a more permanent solution, built-in grills are best for clubs that use their outdoor space all year long. Built-in grills often have higher power capabilities, making it easier to grill for many members at once.
Smokehouse
For clubs that do not have room in their kitchen for an indoor smokehouse, an outdoor smokehouse or smoker grill is an important piece of equipment to consider when looking to serve members flavorful and tender barbeque. They can be used to slowly cook smoked entrees or grill and sear veggies and seafood. A smokehouse is ideal for frequent smoking, whereas a smoker grill is best if it will only be used occasionally.
Outdoor Deep Fryer and Steamer
It is easy to deep fry poultry and steam fish and vegetables with an outdoor fryer and steamer. Whether a floor model or countertop, a deep fryer is perfect for poolside appetizers or snacks. Chefs can also steam up shellfish in a combination steamer and fryer unit to bring a Southern flavor. Outdoor fryers, steamers, and combination fryers are grills that are portable and ideal for barbecues, outdoor parties, or other member events.
Pizza Oven
Outdoor pizza ovens give clubs the flexibility to create oven-baked pizzas in an outdoor space. Pizza ovens can use either wood, propane, or natural gas and come in multiple sizes to fit a club’s pizza cooking needs. Whether built-in or portable, pizza cooked in a pizza oven will always be loved by members and can serve as a great spot to socialize while watching the action.
Even if the distance is close enough to the kitchen, adding outdoor kitchen elements can increase the efficiency of service as well as how an outdoor space functions. Adding outdoor cooking equipment or even a small built-in or portable kitchen will help to take some pressure off of the kitchen inside along with adding an additional amenity for private parties, weddings, and other events.
